Some Hypotheses & Some Thought Experiments:
From Cosmos by Carl Sagan
We are made of stardust! Following the Big Bang explosion the early universe contained the primordial mixture of energy & matter that evolved into all the forms of energy & matter we observe in the universe today. For example about 100 seconds after the Big Bang the temperature of this expanding mixture of matter & energy fell to approximately one billion degrees Kelvin (K) - “cool” enough that neutrons & protons began to stick to each other during certain collisions & form light nuclei, such as deuterium & lithium. When the universe was about 3 minutes old, 95% of the atoms were hydrogen, 5% were helium and there were only trace amounts of lithium. At the time hese were the only elements that existed.
The ages measured for Earth’s oldest rocks & oldest crystals show that our planet is at least 4.3 billion years in age but do not reveal the exact age of Earth’s formation. The best age for Earth’s formation . The best age for Earth’s currently estimated at 4.54 billion years.
From mastery by Robert Greene
Ultimate Reality Undeniable Facts 4 billion years ago - life began on Earth, simple cells 600 million years ago - greatest of all organisms with central nervous system appeared; This led to the present brains of humans now. Cambrian Explosion:
- 500 million years ago - first simple animals, then the vertebrates
- 360 million years ago - first traces of amphibious creatures on land
- 120 million years ago - first mammals appeared w/c branded to mammalian directions
- 60 million years ago - signs of early primates from whom we directly descended
- 6 million years ago - early human ancestors appeared
- 4 million years ago - our most recent ancestors, the Homo Erectus
- 200,000 years ago - the anatomically modern humans emerged, with more or less the same brain size we now possessed.
“Since all lifeforms are descended from the common beginning, they are all interconnected in some way, and we humans are intimately implicated in this network. This is undeniable. Let’s call this interrelatedness of life the Ultimate Reality.” – Robert Greene
Some Notes & Hypotheses on How & Why Life Began on Earth
- At about 4,000 million years ago, long after the Big Bang about 13,700 million years ago, life began on Earth as simple cells at the bottom of the sea. The sea was formed due to continuous rains. The sea was the “cradle of life” said Rachel Carson. How? Probably by the intersection of energy and matter (biogenic elements) under favorable conditions.
- Earth is about 4,540 million years old and was formed in the process of expansion of the universe w/c started in the Big Bang. It still is “cooling” & expanding continuously.
- In the process of expanding & “cooling” the primordial mixture of energy & matter formed the biogenic chemical elements (life supporting chemical elements) consisting of atomic/sub-atomic molecules.
- In the same process, galaxies consisting of about billions and billions of stars. One of these about hundreds of billions of galaxies is the Galaxy or th eMilky Way, our galaxy where our sun, the center of our solar system is but a medium-sized star. Our solar system consists of nine planets, where our Mother Earth belongs.
- Natural forces of gravitational attraction & repulsion act between galactic systems, between solar systems, between planetary systems, inside & outside planets and so on, inducing motion.
- These natural forces put on hold our Mother Earth in a position of motion and conditions favorable for the beginnings of life. Moreover, an abundance of formed biogenic chemical elements from cosmic dusts/stardusts abound the forming Earth. The biosphere was formed.
- Our solar system, by act of natural forces determined the location and orbit of each of the member of the planetary system revolving around the Sun. Intergalactic natural forces influenced each other cosmic bodies in a manner corresponding to their gravitational force of attraction & repulsion.
- With the beginnings of life on Earth, and the evolution of continuing favorable conditions for life, began the explosion of evolutionary development of new species of life forms subdivided into the different period of development of Earth’s flora and fauna.
- Life being a complex process of combined energy and matter under certain conditions was favored to evolve different processes and with different natural results.
- Specifically, any life form of an organism, be it a plant or an animal consists of electrochemical components. This dual components of life act in an integral manner. One cannot exist without the other to sustain life or form life. Without one, life ends. This is the duality of life.
- The human body can be considered as a bio cosmos, a universe within. So much have been discovered by the advancement of science. But still so much are still unknown but needs to be discovered and learned. Our country’s medical history and science must be advanced. Specifically herbal & nutritional medicine as we have a very rich resource of plants and animals from ridge to reef.
Thought Experiments/Hypotheses
- In order to sustain life, the two components of bioelectrical energy and biochemicals/biochemistry must function healthfully, in synchrony, in synergy and integrally. Life forms must struggle to reproduce and to survive. Millions of years honed this ability necessity. Moreover each organism and its component parts/organs and systems must be continually developed for the organisms to live/survive and preserve life.
- The bioelectrical energy and biochemical/biochemistry aspects of all life are two aspects of a contradiction. Each is a condition for the other. Without one, there is no life. In a life of an organism, be it an animal or a plant, there is unity & struggle between the two aspects from the beginning up tot he end of the entity. The energy & matter aspects are always in contradiction. Bioenergy is consumed & the product is matter, as matter is consumed the product is energy. This is called metabolism.
- Among the billions of life forms on Earth or biosphere is human life. Humans are descendant of the earliest life forms of the simple cells, be it an animal or a plant. Humans are the ultimate beneficiaries/inheritors of the evolved five sense organs, evolving for millions of years from different animal species the nearest of w/c are the mammals, particularly the primates.
- Humans, aside from possessing the common dual components of bioenergy and biochemical/biochemistry, they particularly possessed the most developed physical and mental characteristics in the present animal species. Human shave well developed five sense organs as well as the 8 body systems. Specifically, the nervous systems of humans is a very complex network & intricate one evolving in hundreds of millions of years. The central part of this system is the human brain.
- From JMS: “Thought itself is an electrochemical phenomenon emanating from specially arranged matter called human brain. But while thought is secondary to matter, it is the highest product of matter. Insofar as it is correctly reflective of the laws of motion of matter, it is capable of correctly interacting with and transforming things faster than nature on its own without human intervention.”
- While humans are the inheritors and beneficiaries of the best developments of nature, they now dominate the Earth’s ecological systems. Healthy ecological systems are necessary conditions for human health and survival. Humans are the stewards of the Earth.
- But, under the present capitalist/imperialist dominant systems the Earth and its humanity are in real danger for its health and survival. Under capitalist system we are doomed, so revolutionary change is the order of the day. Only Socialist system up to Communist system could save humanity and the Mother Earth from destruction due to insatiable capitalist greed.
- From Marx: “The end state of capitalism is the emergence of a frankly predatory form, one without real limits or concerns for human welfare, solely concerned with maximizing profits regardless of the consequences to people of the Earth.” As humans, it is the duty of humanity to look after each members’ health and wellbeing. And also preserve and conserve the Earth’s resources (bountiful gifts) for all to enjoy and make use of. But these are only possible when the highest stage of social development for whole of humanity is achieved. That social system is called COMMUNISM.
